We bring you a beautiful, traditional flat woven rug from India called dhurrie. This dhurrie is handmade by artisans in the traditional Indian way dating back hundreds of years. In the late eighteenth century, the Rajasthani ruling family began using dhurries to decorate their palaces. These royal commissions enhanced the development of rug weaving and ensured the survival of this craft tradition to the present day. This dhurrie will suit the practical needs of modern homes because it is reversible, light weight, and easy to maintain. Only natural materials such as cotton, jute, sheep and camel wool are used and the impact on the environment is minimal.
